Explore what your future could look like
Retirement Calculators helps you explore different paths through work, money and time. These are illustrative tools designed to help you model your options, understand trade-offs and make more confident decisions about the future.
Why I built this
In 2021, I sold an online education business I had built. It was a big life moment. Suddenly, the questions changed from “how do I grow this business?” to “what does this money actually mean for our life?”
I had capital to invest, a young family, property income, pensions, ISAs and a desire to work differently. What I did not have was a clear UK-focused way to model it all together.
Most retirement calculators felt too basic, too US-focused or too detached from real life. I wanted tools that could answer practical questions like: can I work less, how long will accessible money last, should I use an ISA or pension, and what happens if we make different lifestyle choices?
Life behind the numbers 🚲
Behind every calculator on this site is a real family trying to make thoughtful decisions. For us, that means time outdoors, cycling with the kids, local parks, trips away, school runs, work projects and trying to build a life that feels balanced rather than permanently rushed.
Retirement planning is not just about stopping work one day. It is about buying back options. More time with family. More flexibility. Less pressure. A better rhythm of life.
- 🚴 More active family time
- 🌳 More days outdoors
- 💻 Useful online projects
- ⏳ Better control over time
How the calculators help
Think of these tools as financial flight simulators. They do not predict the future, but they help you test different routes before making big decisions.
See your path
Model your savings, pensions, ISAs, income and spending over time.
Test the trade-offs
Compare working longer, saving more, spending less, downsizing or using part-time income.
Keep it private
The calculators are designed for illustrative modelling. Your figures are not stored.
Where to start
Not sure which calculator to use first? Start with the question that feels closest to your life right now.

The aim is not to give you a guaranteed answer. The aim is to help you understand your direction of travel, spot possible gaps and have better conversations about money, work and time.
Life beyond traditional ‘work’ 📸
This is what it’s really about. Creating more time for the things that matter: family, cycling, the outdoors, useful work, travel and a healthier pace of life.
A personal note
This site sits at the meeting point of my own life experience: building online businesses, selling a business, investing, thinking about family life and wanting a healthier relationship with work.
My hope is that the tools help you feel less overwhelmed and more in control. Not because they give you a perfect answer, but because they provide options for how you lead your life.
